Frontline Music Catalog Collector’s Edition Reissues.
PRESS RELEASE
July 16th, 2010
Intense Millennium Records is proud to announce its January 2011 Frontline Music Catalog Collector’s Edition Reissues.
Sacred Warrior - Master's Command
The band's debut "Rebellion" stormed out of the gates like a runaway freight train. By comparison, "Master's Command" was a more varied and experimental affair. Instead of pummeling the listener with a full-on metal attack, Sacred Warrior adjusted
their approach to include more melody, more variety, and interesting songs that continue to captivate some 20 years later. Any progressive metal notions the band hinted at before were fulfilled with "Master's Command". Sacred Warrior had arrived, and staked their claim on the attention of Queensryche and Fates Warning fans worldwide.
Altar Boys - Gut Level Music
Many bands in the Christian music scene had embraced current styles in the early to mid 80's, including new wave, punk, arena rock, and metal. Few bands, however, had the kind of tough, gritty rock and roll sound of Altar Boys. Fewer still pulled it off
with such ease, giving fans of Social Distortion and similar groups a true alternative to that kind of punk rock. Mike Stand and company had already recorded two ground-breaking albums, but "Gut Level Music" was where they hit their stride, perfectly combining the melodic lines of 1980's rock with the energy and attitude of punk rock to create the right blend that struck a chord with punk, rock, and alternative fans for years.
It was previously announced that in November of this year Intense Millennium Records will release newly remastered versions of Vengeance’s “Human Sacrifice”, Vengeance Rising’s “Once Dead”, Sacred Warrior’s “Rebellion”, Bloodgood’s “Bloodgood”, and Bloodgood’s “Detonation”. Various pre-order packages will go sale on August 1st that include bonus cds, t-shirts, posters, and buttons from the labels website (www.intensemillennium.com).
Intense Millennium Records is dedicated to releasing fully licensed material from one of the most prolific group of record labels to exist in the Christian Metal scene, the Intense/Frontline/Alarma Records group.

Veangeance Rising, Bloodgood & Sacred Warrior News
Intense Millennium Records is a partnership between Divine Metal Distro, Roxx Productions, and two additional individuals Josh Dieckmann and Sandy Scafedi. We have come together under this one umbrella to form a company that is dedicated to releasing fully licensed material from one of the most prolific group of record labels to exist in the Christian Metal scene, the Intense/Frontline/Alarma Records group. This will be the first time that many of these titles will have seen any form of quality release since their original releases back in the 1980s & 1990s.
Our first batch of releases is scheduled for release in November of 2010 and include classic albums from Vengeance Rising, Sacred Warrior and Bloodgood. All of our releases will be completely re-mastered to give these albums the best modern audio quality that is available today. As well each release will have brand new artwork based on the original cover designs, along with 8 page booklets complete with lyrics, and liner notes. When possible bonus material will be added as well.
The first 5 titles that will be released are:
Vengeance - Human SacrificeFew albums can claim to have started a musical movement like "Human Sacrifice". While thrash metal had already been well established by 1988, only a handful of bands had attempted to combine such fast, heavy music with lyrics reflecting faith in Christ. None of these bands had released anything more than demos or a couple tracks on compilations until this monster of an album came roaring onto the scene. Fusing fast riffing, driving bass and drums, hyper-speed bluesy lead guitar, and just enough melody to make things more memorable, "Human Sacrifice" did more than just introduce Christianity to the genre - it revolutionized the developing style of "Christian metal" in a way no previous band or album had done. Vengeance Rising raised the stakes and gave fellow thrashers a unique album that set the bar for future releases.

Vengeance Rising raised the stakes and gave fellow thrashers a unique album that set the bar for future releases.
Vengeance Rising - Once DeadWhere Vengeance Rising's debut "Human Sacrifice" stormed onto the scene and created quite a stir, "Once Dead" tightened the thrash attack into a well-oiled machine. While the band's debut was experimental and diverse, "Once Dead" was a snapshot of a band seasoned by touring and songwriting, with a more consistent approach that capitalized on thrash metal's calling card - velocity. Vengeance Rising's second album is rife with fast, thrashy anthems that take their sound to the next level, ramping up the volume, intensity, and energy even more. When other thrash bands were starting to slow down, Vengeance Rising took the opposite approach for maximum effect.
Sacred Warrior - RebellionThe burgeoning Christian metal movement had several notable bands by the mid 1980's. None, however, took the progressive elements of pioneers like Queensryche and Fates Warning and combined them with the pure energy and heaviness present in much of the thrash metal of the time. Enter Sacred Warrior - a band that skillfully and successfully combined these two elements to create a metallic attack that rivaled many of their contemporaries, and stands the test of time as one of the greats of the era. “Rebellion”, the band’s auspicious debut, capitalizes on that potent mixture by offering up searing riffs, lightning fast solos, soaring vocals, and a rhythm section that thundered with authority.
Bloodgood - BloodgoodHeavy Metal has been accused by its detractors as all sounding the same. While the mid-80’s saw a glut of metal bands cashing in on the style, many of which sounded the same as the next band, no one could accuse Bloodgood of being a sound-alike. Combining a melodic, classic heavy metal approach with the uniquely operatic vocals of Les Carlson, Bloodgood carved out its own niche in the metal scene by offering up listeners a potent mix of high-pitched vocal wails, melodic yet energetic guitar riffing, a tight rhythm section, and memorable songs that would stay with you for weeks. This powerful blend came shining through on Bloodgood’s self-titled debut album, and quickly set the bar for metal bands wishing to share their faith with the world.
Bloodgood - DetonationBloodgood’s second album, “Detonation”, was the perfect follow-up to their high-energy debut, and raised the bar even higher for faith-based metal bands. The fast songs were faster, the emotion in the songs was more intense, and the musical attack was tighter. The lyrics were also stronger, as the band took on some fairly unpopular topics like suicide and homelessness. Truly a landmark album in the scene, this classic contains the duo of songs “Crucify” and “Messiah” that showed what a real metal band could do with such emotionally charged subject matter and pull it off with such ease.
Beginning in January of 2011 we will unleash two classic Frontline titles per month. With such a vast catalog of titles at our finger tips we welcome any suggestions from you the fans in regards to what titles you would like to see released the soonest. There is currently a poll on our website, feel free to stop by and let your voice be heard.

Ted Kirkpatrick Fugue in D Minor rough cut
Well folks, I've reached the half century mark - today is my 50th Birthday (although I still feel around 30) - so I thought I would celebrate with all of you by offering a track from my very nearly completed new solo release IN THE SHADOW OF THE MASTERS. I hadn't intended on putting up any more tunes from it, as it will be going to mastering and manufacturing very soon, but you only turn 50 once, right? Plus let this be an apology from me for pushing the release date back a little...
This is FUGUE IN D MINOR - BWV 565 by Johann Sebastian Bach. It was written around 1705 and is the epitomy of HEAVY! To say this piece is brilliant is a gross understatement. The complexity, the melodies, the huge chords, the quiet parts, and the ultra-loud blast-you-out-of-your-pew parts are all awesome. The drumming was very challenging, as the mid-tempo groove ebbs and flows almost imperceptibly and there are numerous precise timing issues and lots of time to play different beats and fills. I have always tried to treat the drums as a musical instrument and not just "rhythm", and I hope I did a good job for all of you and Mr. Bach.
The track is mixed, but not yet mastered so downloading is not available - the finished mastered tune will sound about 1,000 times cleaner, fuller, bigger kicks, louder...better! So - the track may only be up a short time.
One of my dreams when I get to heaven is to be able to go back in time and attend concerts played or conducted by the composers themselves... but for now - sit back and picture yourself sitting in a church in Weimar, Germany 300 years ago with none other than the master Bach himself seated at the organ playing this.
Looking forward to releasing the entire album - lots of hyper crazy drumming on it. Now... where's all my birthday presents? Haha... http://tourniquet.bandcamp.com/

Stryper - "The Covering" Due This Fall
The new STRYPER album entitled "The Covering", featuring all original members - front man Michael Sweet, drummer Robert Sweet, guitarist Oz Fox and bassist Timothy Gaines - will be released in the fall of 2010. Leader Michael Sweet has issued the following update:
"Just as promised, I wanted to outline some more details regarding the new Stryper record. We grew up listening to many different styles of music and there is a list of bands that influenced us throughout our musical education. Bands like JUDAS PRIEST, IRON MAIDEN, SCORPIONS, VAN HALEN, UFO, DEEP PURPLE,LED ZEPPELIN, QUEEN, KANSAS and many others, helped to shape our sound and make us who we are today, musically speaking. We grew up on the streets of LA playing every club in town from Gazzari's to The Whisky to The Troubadour to you name it. We played covers from all the bands mentioned above and we shaped our own sound from listening and performing songs from these classic bands. We wanted to step outside the box and record a record that shows you, the fans, where we come from - our historical, musical roots so to speak. It's a side to Stryper that no one has really seen or heard before, or at least quite like this. We performed 'On Fire' by Van Halen on a few tours and we also performed 'Breaking The Law' by Priest on this last tour. The response was far beyond our expectations each time we performed these songs. People seemed genuinely surprised to hear Stryper cover these songs and even more surprised to hear Stryper perform these songs relatively well. This will be an opportunity for Robert, Oz, Tim and myself to loosen up and have some fun. For those of you who may think that we're walking away from our faith - your wrong. We've never been more serious about our faith at any point in our lives. It is however important to enjoy what you do and lighten up from time to time. That's what we plan to do. This will be a fun record to make and we hope that this comes through, as well as the chance to showcase the abilities that we've been blessed with. More details to come and a specific song list and sequence to follow. We're looking forward to geting back into the studio and more important, to seeing all of you on the road again this year!
Be well, be blessed and let the games begin."
Some of the songs which will be featured on The Covering include:
JUDAS PRIEST - 'Breaking The Law'
IRON MAIDEN - 'The Trooper'
KISS - 'Shout It Out Loud'
SCORPIONS - Blackout'
OZZY OSBOURNE - 'Over The Mountain'
SWEET - 'Set Me Free'
VAN HALEN - 'On Fire'
DEEP PURPLE - 'Highway Star'
BLACK SABBATH - 'Heaven And Hell'
UFO - 'Lights Out'
KANSAS - 'Carry On Wayward Son'

Ted Kirkpatrick & Tourniquet News
I have three exciting things to tell you about. I have just completed recording my first solo album called ODE TO A ROADKILL. The title track refers to the sad reality of the millions of animals who die each year on our roadways. 7 songs, over 40 minutes of brand new music. I have been a fan of slow “stoner” music for many years, and this album definitely fits that category, with my own influence to it, of course. I’m really pleased with the way it turned out and look forward to having you all hear it as it is super, super heavy. All "vocals" are done utilizing majestic, creepy, haunting, unaltered animal calls. Cool album art designed by Jared Meyer – aka Lucid Hysteria. The album will be available as a 6 panel Digipak CD and an online download. Looking at a release date of March 10, 2010 – right around the corner. http://tourniquet.bandcamp.com/
At the same time, I have been working on a different solo project also very soon to be released called IN THE SHADOW OF THE MASTERS. It is a very technical drumming album featuring drums played over classical music. I’ve done a few things on past Tourniquet albums, but I think this is beyond anything so far just in length of the pieces. IN THE SHADOW OF THE MASTERS will feature music by Mozart, Chopin, Rossini, Beethoven and more. Release date: March 30, 2010.
Finally, we will be recording a brand new epic TOURNIQUET album in July or August, 2010. We are excited to announce that we will be working with legendary English producer NEIL KERNON. Neil has either produced, recorded, mixed, or engineered a staggering amount of cool music from classic metal (Queensryche, Dokken, Judas Priest, Autograph) to death metal (Nile, Cannibal Corpse) to progressive music (Nevermore, Magma) to hair metal (Britny Fox) to Christian bands like Petra, to classic bands like Kansas, to platinum selling albums like Hall and Oates “Private Eyes”. We plan to release it as soon as it’s finished in fall of this year.

"We wanted to step outside the box and record a record that shows you, the fans, where we come from - our historical, musical roots so to speak. It's a side to Stryper that no one has really seen or heard before, or at least quite like this."
It seems like it is going to be a record of cover songs.

Crystavox - The Twenty Year Mix
Crystavox and Roxx Records are very proud to reveal the full release details and new cover art for their brand new Limited Edition release ‘The Twenty Year Mix’. This two disc set is scheduled to be released May 25th, 2010 and will consist of both a full length CD and a very special DVD release.
First up disc one will be a completely remastered “Best Of” CD consisting of many of your favorite Crystavox tracks including sacrifice, home again, power games, its all right, shame, big picture, snakes, paradise, no boundaries, guns, break down the walls and cry out. All these tracks were taken straight from the master tapes that had been sitting in storage in the Ocean Records archives for close to twenty years. These tracks have been completely remastered and totally redone; new guitars, drums and an over-sampling method vastly increasing the mastered volume of each song to today’s standards making for an optimal sound that brings these tracks straight in to the modern day.
Disc two will be a very special DVD release consisting of a recently discovered “never before released’ live concert footage and also several MTV style video clips that have never before been officially released. All footage has had the color completely corrected and restored and has been completely remastered in the 16:9 format. In addition to all of this classic remastered video footage the DVD will also include a recently recorded, “where are they now” segment - shot in HD, and featuring the band “self narrating” the story of Crystavox!
If all that isn’t enough for you then you will definitely want to get your order in early as everyone that gets in on the Pre-Order will receive an exclusive 3rd disc that will only be made available to those that pre-order. This bonus disc is a Live EP of a behind the scenes recording taken straight from the soundboard at a New Year’s Eve show in San Diego California on December 31st 1992. This would ultimately be the last and only live audio recording Crystavox would ever do. Head over to www.roxxproductions.com to get your order in early and take advantage of this strictly limited edition bonus disc.
Also be sure to visit the brand new custom, state of the art media website showcasing some of the best audio and video performances from throughout the bands career at Crystavox Facebook

25 Years of Deliverance
In 1985, bands like Stryper and Barren Cross were just starting to make their marks on the Christian Metal scene. In the Thrash world bands like Metallica, Slayer and Testament were in their infancy and just about to take the metal world by storm. It was 1985 that also saw the beginnings of an act that would come along and successfully meld these 2 genres together and ultimately leave an everlasting impact on both of these Metal communities, that band was Deliverance!!! Fronted by the very outspoken and charismatic Jimmy P. Brown he would take this band and the Christian Thrash scene to a whole new level.
Fast forward to 2010, and we are very proud to be celebrating 25 years of that successful outfit known as Deliverance. Still recording and playing shows to any place that will host them! If you ask any Christian Metal fan out there to name the most influential Christian Thrash band of old and still in the scene to this day, undoubtedly Deliverance will top the list!
In celebration of 25 years of Deliverance, Deliverance fans have several things to look forward to this year…
Up first a BRAND NEW studio album through Retroactive Records! You heard that right 2010 will see a brand new release from the Christian thrash masters entitled “The Annals of Subterfuge”! (Full press release forthcoming from Retroactive Records)
Also Roxx Records in conjunction with the Christian Metal Realm (CMR) are set to release “Temporary Insanity – A Salute to Deliverance” a 2 CD set all star tribute to Deliverance! Which is set to feature many special guests artists and contributions from current and past members of the Crucified, Deliverance, Vengeance Rising, Dark Angel, Darkness Falls and many many more, all coming out to pay tribute to ‘25 Years of Deliverance’! Which will also include a brand new recording from Deliverance!!! The 25th Anniversary Edition of ‘Flesh and Blood’ completely redone and re-recorded! (Full press release forthcoming from Roxx Records/CMR)
Not enough for you!!!! Plans are also in the works to bring Deliverance to you live this year in celebration of 25 years of Deliverance!!!!!! Shows in California and Pennsylvania are currently in the works and we are currently entertaining a few other fly in dates for the band as well as some festival appearances! Interested in bringing Deliverance to your area? Please contact bill@roxxproductions.com with any and all possibilities!
It’s gonna be a great year for the ‘D’ fan as we get ready to celebrate ‘25 years of Deliverance!’

Believer Update
You haven’t heard from us for a while, so we wanted to give you a quick studio update. We’ve been in writing mode for a couple months and now it’s getting to the point where we are starting to piece together some very early “pre-pre-production recordings”. These are very basic guitar-only tracks recorded to a click, for the purpose of helping Joey to finish writing his drum parts and for all of us to get a very preliminary feel for the album as a whole.
So far much of the writing has taken place in various “small group” sessions containing 2 or 3 members of the band. We tend to set specific goals for each of these sessions. Whether it’s coming up with new song ideas, refining ideas that already exist, recording scratch tracks or writing specific parts for specific
instruments, we generally have an idea of what we want to accomplish before we get together. This helps us to stay focused on the task at hand and see continual progress.
That’s it for now . . . Let us know what projects you’re working on this year –
music-related or otherwise.
Thanks for your support!

Demon Hunter: The World is a Thorn
Hunters, we are happy to announce that our fifth album will be entitled "The World Is A Thorn" and it will be available in stores and online March 9th. The album was produced by our longtime friend, Aaron Sprinkle and mixed by producer Jason Suecof and is simultaneously our heaviest yet most melodic project thus far.
We'd also like to officially introduce and welcome Ryan Helm of The Ascendicate as our new guitarist. This is an exciting time all around and we hope you will stay tuned for updates on art, music and pre-orders.

Barren Cross: Dean Kohn Interview
As some of you know, Barren Cross made a recent announcement of their new lead singer Dean Kohn. I asked Dean if he could answer some questions, so the fans could get to know him a little better.
So we have heard that you have sang with bands such as ATTAKK, Loudness & Malice.
Yes I had the pleasure of singing with all these bands.
After the announcement of you joining the band, people posted this from youtube:
Yes, that is me on vocal. I wrote that song “Freedom” with my old guitarist from a former band and he decided to post that after I had joined Barren Cross.
Tell us a little about yourself
Well I came to the Lord at 25 years old, and I have always loved music and appreciate all styles and talents. I am active in my church in teaching, singing, and I oversee the Jail ministry. I am also heavily involved with the Evangelism Team. It’s all about reaching souls. What brought you to the Lord?
To be honest, God Himself called me to Himself. It wasn’t easy either. I was in negotiation with Joe Holmes who had just left the David Lee Roth tour, and my friend who played with Judas Priest called me and said "hey call this guitarist". However during this time God’s love revealed to me, drew me to Him. The funny thing is Joe is now a Christian after going on to play for Ozzy. What do you like to do (Besides singing with Barren Cross)?
Spend time with my family. Watch UFC. Who are your influences when it comes to singing?
Elvis Presley, I used to copy him growing up for my relatives! Geoff Tate, Rob Halford, Dickinson, Harnell. There’s so many. I’m a sponge for the power vocalist. Out of the past singers (Mike Lee, Vince Van Voltenburg, ) what do you bring (stylistically speaking) different to the table?
That’s a good question. We'll just have to see! I may be more versatile?
How did you hook up with the band?
I actually got in touch with them through Jeff McClain at North Coast Agency through the internet. He’s helping with promoting the band.
Is Barren Cross going for any kind of particular sound (or feel) with it's next release, or just whatever comes about?
We are keeping the vintage Barren Cross sound and bringing in a new modern sound combined.
Can you give us any insight into the lyrical/topical subject matter?
All I can say is it’s relevant to our time.
Is the current Barren Cross lineup looking to do any gigs or maybe even a tour?
Yes we are. We are looking at many options as we speak. Until we settle on confirmed dates and countries, I can’t say at this time as of yet. We will post it on our site as soon as we know our 2010 schedule for the fans. Many people have been asking us to come to their country or part of the world. I tell them I really hope we can, let’s pray and ask God for revival in your country.
Any label talk a this moment?
No. Not at this time. You may be surprised who we recruit to do the recording though!
What are you personally looking to achieve with Barren Cross?
To bring people who do not know Christ an opportunity to come to know Him. And to restore the believer that has left the path and needs to know Christ said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” And embrace them with God’s restoring love.
What is Barren Cross looking to achieve with this phase the Lord has for them, especially after 14 years?
You know that is a band question. I would say in a general way we want to be an extension of God’s Word through our music. What do you think of the current music scene?
Secular? - It’s getting darker and darker and the spoken words in the songs are very damaging to the soul.
Christian – its Growing leaps and bounds and God is moving in many groups like never before in our time. I mean look at the Christian rock/metal scene! It’s huge compared to just 10-12 years ago. God is building “His” army.
With Bands such as KISS and Heaven & Hell making critically acclaimed records, do you feel that there may be a "revival" in the metal scene towards the more traditional?
I hope so.
Do you feel that grunge killed metal, helped it get back to it's roots, or metal disintegrated on it's own?
Yea, grunge definitely came in and took over for awhile. Now I think metal is back! I mean we just got bombarded in the beginning of the 90’s from Seattle ya know?
Anything you would like to say to the fans?
Guys, I’m excited to be part of an awesome group in Barren Cross and I know God has placed me in this position for a reason and a time such as this! I really want to meet as many of you as possible and remember keep Rockin’ for the King!Barren Cross' MySpace
